Driving Safety Tips
During any time of the year, but especially during the COVID-19 crisis, driving safely is important. While the roads across the nation are empty, many drivers chose to be more daring or even reckless when driving. This behavior has be reported by many police departments across the country. Remember to stay safe and do not give into temptation of the open and empty roads.
To help you stay safe on Pennsylvania roads consider some of the following tips from the MP2 Placidi & Parini law firm.
Drowsy driving
We have all done this at one time or another, driven while we were very tired. If you drive while fatigued your reaction time is slowed and your vision and judgment are impaired.
During the COVID-19 crisis many healthcare workers and other essential workers are working long hours. These men and women are risking their lives to help others at the cost of their health. Drowsy driving might prove to be a dangerous side effect of the COVID-19 crisis.
What many drivers do not realize is that driving while drowsy is similar to driving while under the influence of alcohol. If you have been awake for close to 18 hours while working or returning from work or a long trip, being sleepy impacts your ability to drive about as much as if you were driving under the influence of alcohol. Most adults need anywhere from 7 to 9 hours of sleep.
